2-month contract position with a local authority

Summary

This is a 2-month contract position with a local authority, aimed at managing and maintaining a residential site on behalf of Property Services. The role is crucial for ensuring the premises are safe, compliant, and well-maintained, working closely with the residential team to provide a secure and functional environment.

Responsibilities

Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance across the site.
Ensure all building compliance checks and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
Collaborate with the residential team to maintain a safe and functional environment for children and staff.
Identify and report any major issues or hazards requiring further attention.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of communal areas and external grounds.
Support emergency repairs and respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests.
Liaise with contractors and Property Services as needed.

Essential Experience

Previous experience in a site maintenance or technician role, preferably within residential or care settings.
Basic knowledge of building compliance and health & safety regulations.
Ability to carry out minor repairs (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently.

Essential Qualifications

Relevant vocational qualification in building maintenance or a related field – desirable.
Health & Safety training or certification – desirable.

Additional Information

Working hours: 25 hours per week
The position is for 5 hours per day, 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM, including a ½ hour unpaid lunch break.
