2-month contract position with a local authority
Summary
- This is a 2-month contract position with a local authority, aimed at managing and maintaining a residential site on behalf of Property Services. The role is crucial for ensuring the premises are safe, compliant, and well-maintained, working closely with the residential team to provide a secure and functional environment.
Responsibilities
- Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance across the site.
- Ensure all building compliance checks and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
- Collaborate with the residential team to maintain a safe and functional environment for children and staff.
- Identify and report any major issues or hazards requiring further attention.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of communal areas and external grounds.
- Support emergency repairs and respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests.
- Liaise with contractors and Property Services as needed.
Essential Experience
- Previous experience in a site maintenance or technician role, preferably within residential or care settings.
- Basic knowledge of building compliance and health & safety regulations.
- Ability to carry out minor repairs (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently.
Essential Qualifications
- Relevant vocational qualification in building maintenance or a related field – desirable.
- Health & Safety training or certification – desirable.
Additional Information
- Working hours: 25 hours per week
- The position is for 5 hours per day, 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM, including a ½ hour unpaid lunch break.
