3 months contract with local authority

Responsibilities:

• Lead the daily operations of the service area, ensuring prompt and efficient responses to contacts and referrals.
  
• Manage staff and resources to deliver services aligned with government policies and council procedures.
  
• Provide leadership in implementing changes in policies and procedures.
  
• Advise senior management on strategy, policy, and service direction, ensuring effective feedback and implementation.
  
• Meet and report on performance targets for the service area.
  
• Manage budgets and expenditures to optimize resources and ensure value for money.
  
• Foster effective working relationships with other departments, external agencies, and the third sector.
  
• Drive and implement the strategic vision of the department and manage cultural change for excellent service delivery.
  
• Lead project management for key Children's Social Care themes and develop joint arrangements with schools and other agencies.
  

• Proven leadership experience in a multi-agency Children's Social Care environment.
  
• Strong understanding of statutory frameworks and government policies related to children's welfare.
  
• Excellent management skills for staff, resources, and budgets.
  
• Ability to provide strategic advice and implement policy changes.
  
• Experience in fostering partnerships with various stakeholders.
  
• Strong project management skills and experience in service improvement initiatives.
