3 months contract with a local authority

Job Purpose

To carry out a transformation project lead role in the newly formed Safer Communities Service. This will include project managing the delivery of the Safer Communities Service, devising and implementing Improvement plans, identifying and realising business efficiencies and driving forward the current and future strategies associated to this Service, to timescale and within budget.

Key Duties/Accountabilities

Drive and deliver service led change across the department through programme and project management.
Lead on the implementation of specific projects/ programmes ensuring the required outcomes are met.
Develop and regularly review/monitor process maps for the Service.
Take decisions in relation to project options within agreed tolerance levels.
Develop and implement appropriate project controls and systems to ensure effective management of risk and financial probity.
Oversee and coordinate the work of all staff involved in the project(s) (internal/external).

Essential Experience Required

Significant experience of personally managing projects, programmes or commissioning and procuring services in a public sector setting to successful outcomes.
Experience of providing support at senior management level to plan, implement and monitor projects effectively.
Experience of successful budgetary management and control.
Experience of working on own initiative and as an effective team member.
Significant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.

Essential Qualification Required

Educated to degree level or a recognized project management qualification with relevant experience.
GCSE (1-3, A-C) of numeracy and literacy.

Basic DBS is required for the role.
