2-3 month contract role with a local authority

Summary
  • This is a 2-3 month contract role with a local authority, aimed at delivering excellent, professional, and specialist services to residents in alignment with the Council’s vision, values, resources, and priorities. The position focuses on maximizing the letting of over 7,000 garages, underground car parks, and other parking schemes, ensuring the waiting list is managed appropriately, and properties are allocated according to the lettings policy and procedure.
Responsibilities
  • Manage garages, underground car parks, and other non-residential properties, including voids and waiting lists.
  • Identify disused garage areas and promote the availability of garages, especially in refurbished or hard-to-let areas.
  • Inspect voids, liaise with repairs teams, and ensure properties are re-let quickly.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure properties are fit for purpose and address issues such as disrepair or anti-social behavior.
  • Use enforcement procedures to ensure compliance with license agreements, including preparing for legal action if necessary.
Essential Experience Required
  • Experience in letting & licenses or tenancies is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent IT and Excel skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good time management and ability to scrutinize data.
  • Experience letting non-residential units (garages, barrow stores) and managing parking schemes in public and private sectors.
  • Experience assessing stock condition and identifying repairs.
  • Experience resolving problems with void turnarounds and lettings.
Essential Qualification Required
  • Understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities, anti-discriminatory practices, and council policies (health & safety, fire safety, tobacco).
  • Knowledge of legal processes in tenancy management, especially regarding licenses.
  • Knowledge of repairs and lettings standards.
Additional Information
  • Working hours: 36 hours per week.
  • This role requires working from the office in Tooley Street and meeting customers on-site to carry out the lettings. It is not a hybrid position.
