Job Summary:
• We are seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Operations Manager to support the effective delivery of services within a Youth Justice Service (YJS) team.
• This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to youth justice outcomes through operational oversight and leadership in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
• Support the operational management of the Youth Justice Service within the assigned locality.
• Supervise and support frontline staff, ensuring effective case management and service delivery.
• Contribute to strategic planning and implementation of youth justice priorities and initiatives.
• Monitor service performance and compliance with legislative, policy, and practice frameworks.
• Lead or support audits, quality assurance processes, and data analysis to drive service improvement.
• Liaise with partner agencies including police, probation, social care, education, and health to ensure integrated service delivery.
• Support safeguarding processes and manage risk relating to young people involved in the youth justice system.
• Deputise for the Operations Manager as required.
Skills/Experience:
• Proven operational or team management experience within Youth Justice.
• In-depth understanding of the youth justice system, relevant legislation, and policy frameworks.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and support staff.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and decision-making abilities.
• Confident working collaboratively with multi-agency partners.
• Ability to manage performance, risk, and service improvement activities.
• Experience in managing staff performance and service delivery at an operational level.
• Experience in managing or supporting safeguarding and high-risk cases.
• Familiarity with case management systems used in youth justice settings.
