Job description

3 months contract with a local authority

Job Purpose

  • To work as a core member of the Prevention team in assessing, planning and delivering a targeted, tiered and co-ordinated approach to children at risk of offending with the aim of diverting them from criminal and anti-social behaviour. The worker will assist in the development and delivery of prevention programmes, working specifically in co-ordination with statutory and voluntary sector partners to ensure consistent policy, practice and procedures, and the efficient and effective use of resources.

Key Duties/Accountabilities

  • Liaise with and establish effective working relationships with voluntary and statutory services involved in reducing and preventing anti-social behaviour and crime.
  • Undertake assessments of children and their families referred to the Prevention Team.
  • To assess and appropriately manage risk and safeguarding in line with YOS and Knowsley CSC policies and procedures.
  • To manage an individual caseload of children and their families/carers carrying out specific interventions to address their anti-social behaviour; as well as preventing offending.
  • To share information with relevant partnership colleagues and attend professional and consultation meetings where appropriate.
  • To work in cooperation with other agencies and partners and key stakeholders in the local community.
Essential Experience Required

Experience to work within the community to address perceptions of anti-social behaviour and to adopt restorative practice methods within the community.

Essential Qualification Required

General education qualification is essential.

Additional information to note

Working Hours: 36 hours per week.
