Summary
- This 6-7 month contract role with a local authority involves supporting the Waste and Cleaning management team. The position focuses on the technical provision, organization, and coordination of resources to ensure efficient and cost-effective service operations. Key responsibilities include customer care, account management for external services, and analyzing tonnage data to recommend service delivery improvements. The role also involves monitoring and creating statistical information related to service requests and failures, handling complaints and inquiries, and developing crew schedules to meet service requirements.
Responsibilities
- Undertake projects under the direction of the business unit manager to improve service delivery.
- Monitor expenditure, prepare, and submit claims while ensuring compliance with Council policies and financial regulations using SAP.
- Ensure accurate invoicing and payments for services provided to external customers using SAP.
- Manage accounts and provide excellent customer care for external services using SAP and relevant databases.
- Handle written and oral inquiries and complaints, providing detailed responses and solutions.
- Represent the Council at meetings with contractors and liaise with them daily.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience in delivering front-line services or managing contracts.
- Proven track record of providing excellent customer service.
- Experience working in partnership with other stakeholders.
Qualification
- Experience using SAP Finance, including data gathering and monitoring.
- Detail-oriented, punctual, with at least 4 GCSEs at C level or above, including Maths & English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word at an intermediate level.
- BTEC National or equivalent qualification.
Additional Information
- Working hours: 36 hours per week, 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
- Role commencement: Ideally Monday, 22 September 2025.
- No hybrid working opportunities.
