6-7 month contract role with a local authority

Summary
  • This is a 6-7 month contract role with a local authority, aimed at empowering voluntary sector youth workers with the necessary skills to support vulnerable young people at risk of or experiencing criminal exploitation. As part of the WCF Get Safe Team, you will collaborate with various professionals to promote the team's work, educate partner agencies, and directly support at-risk children. Your efforts will be crucial in guiding youth workers to provide proactive and intensive support, helping young people transition away from criminal exploitation.
Responsibilities
  • Educate youth workers on the role of Get Safe in addressing child exploitation in Worcestershire.
  • Train youth workers on the GET SAFE risk assessment tool and portal usage.
  • Deliver training to upskill youth workers to become GET SAFE referral partners.
  • Raise awareness among youth workers about the risks and issues of criminal exploitation.
  • Collaborate with youth workers in diverse settings, offering flexible support, including evenings and weekends.
  • Attend meetings to promote Get Safe's work and support community partner agencies.
Experience 
  • Proven experience working with vulnerable young people at risk of or experiencing criminal exploitation.
Qualification
  • Professional qualification (Level 5) in a field related to working with children, young people, and families.
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Mathematics, or comparable experience-based learning.
Additional Information
  • Working Hours: 37 hours per week
  • DBS required
