Job description
3 months contract with local authority
This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the integrated Family Hub model and Start for Life programme. As a Start for Life Clinical Officer, you will be responsible for providing top-notch mental health assessment, guidance, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions to infants (0–2 years old) and their parents with mild to moderate needs. Your role will involve operating within a systemic framework, integrated across Family Hubs, Children and Family Centres, and Early Help services. You will be engaged in both individual and group interventions aimed at bolstering parent-infant mental health and relationships. The ideal candidate will possess a mental health qualification and be capable of conducting assessments and evidence-based therapeutic interventions. This position is funded until the end of March 2026.
About You
We are seeking an individual who:
- Holds a relevant mental health qualification such as United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (BACP), British Association of Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP), or Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) as a mental health nurse.
- Demonstrates experience and enthusiasm for working with infants (0–2) and their families.
- Possesses the skills to effectively engage families encountering barriers to accessing services.
- Exhibits strong knowledge of child development, parenting practices, and parent-infant mental health.
- Has a track record of delivering therapeutic interventions with both adults and parent-infant dyads.
- Understands the challenges faced by families in diverse urban communities.
- Is available to commence as soon as possible to contribute to the success of the programme.
