Job description

3 months contract with a local authority

Job Purpose
  • The data tracking manager’s role is to oversee the quality and storage of the data captured by the SEN Service, and to use performance and reporting systems and tools to effectively extract, analyse and report on key performance indicators, impact, and service outcomes. This data is to be amalgamated with data submitted by the SEND Local Area partners and benchmarked against regional and national data (including statistical neighbours). This will culminate in the creation and management of a live SEND Local Area dashboard (preferably on PowerBI).

Key Duties/Accountabilities
  • Responsible for the SEN Service performance data and for carrying out regular data analysis as requested
  • Use data insight to monitor individual, team and service performance standards against statutory and service agreed timelines
  • Constructively relay areas of weakness and performance shortfalls through demonstrated data findings relayed to the SEN Improvement Lead
  • Work with SEN finance to carry out joint analysis enabling cost savings identification and provide data to support school delegated funding returns, Specialist Resource Bases (SRB) payments and contracting payments
  • Support the upkeep of the casework management system, including maintenance schedules, updates and system development to enable the SEN service, and service-related programmes to make accurate data returns
  • Carry out regular SEND LA benchmarking and statistical neighbour analysis
  • Responsible for service reporting required by the Head of Service, SEND Service Manager and SEND Improvement Lead
Essential Experience Required
  • High level of knowledge/experience of IT including databases, and an understanding of how it is used to support the work of the service and adhering to GDPR
  • Experience of data quality management and using regular data error checks
  • Experience of using performance and reporting systems and tools confidently and effectively to extract, analyse and report on key performance and service outcomes, ideally from a SEND perspective.
Essential Qualification Required
  • English & Maths GCSE A*-C (Minimum Essential)
  • Maths A-Level (Desirable)
  • Data related qualifications for example Excel, PowerBI etc (desirable)
Additional information to note
  • Working hours: 35 hours per week.
  • The role requires an Enhanced DBS & barred list check (Child & adult).
  • Hybrid working 1 to 2 days per week onsite in the Civic Centre
