3-4 months contract with a local authority

Job Purpose

• We are looking for experienced candidates who are accredited Consultants in Public Health. As we are also reviewing our roles, we would like someone who can be flexible on their portfolios of work.
  

Key Duties/Accountabilities

• Healthy Communities – public health leadership on coproduction programmes across the borough focussed on conditions for equity in neighbourhood, communities and population subgroups experiencing health inequalities.
  
• Healthy Adults – leadership in the healthy adult portfolio including strategic commissioning of sexual health, tobacco, weight management and health checks and strategic public health leadership around long terms condition prevention, mental health, tobacco control, sexual health and substance misuse.
  

Essential Experience Required

• Substantial relevant experience in Public Health understanding and competence is essential.
  

Essential Qualification Required

• PH -Inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register/GDC Specialist List/UK Voluntary Register (UKVR) for Public Health Specialists.  If included in the GMC Specialist Register/GDC Specialist List in a specialty other than public health medicine/dental public health, you must have equivalent training and/or appropriate experience of public health medicine practice is essential.
  
• Having a minimum CPD requirements (i.e. be up to date) in accordance with Faculty of Public Health requirements or other recognised body is essential.
  

Additional information to note

• Working hours: 35 hours per week
  
• This would be for an initial three months as the permanent recruitment is taken forward.
