3 months contract with local authority
The role involves supporting the Senior Prosecutions Lawyer to ensure the Council receives a high-quality, cost-effective Prosecutions Service. The position requires delivering legal advice and support in criminal law, local government law, and other assigned areas and projects. This role is crucial for maintaining the legal integrity and efficiency of the Council's operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Senior Prosecutions Lawyer in providing a high-quality Prosecutions Service.
- Deliver legal advice and support in criminal law and local government law.
- Handle projects and areas as allocated by the Council.
- Manage licensing matters, including those under the Licensing Act 2003.
- Serve as a legal adviser to sub-committees when required.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Recent experience in prosecutions and criminal litigation within a local government setting.
- Experience dealing with licensing matters, including the Licensing Act 2003.
- Ideally, experience serving as a legal adviser to sub-committees.
- Preferably, a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
