Job description
5-6 months contract with a local authority
Job Purpose
- To provide an effective & responsive service to Havering
residents relating to refurbishment, reinvestment and new build schemes
including appointment of consultants, project management, contract
administration, contractor, consultant and works supervision and health and
safety to determine the best options and resources available on a case-by-case
basis.
- To be responsible for the monitoring and management of
performance within the area of responsibility, ensuring that internal and
external standards are met and improved upon with the aim of achieving high
resident satisfaction.
- To carry and manage an individual case load or projects and
to work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to successfully deliver the HRA
Planned Works programme.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
- To produce detailed project and
cost plans, specifications, drawings and required contract documentation for
the procurement and delivery of new build, refurbishment and reinvestment
projects, ensuring the highest standards of quality and cost control.
- Taking appropriate action to
resolve any under performance in support of the Planned Programme and Direct
Delivery Manager as appropriate.
- To commission and manage support
consultants from a wide range of professional disciplines to deliver new build,
refurbishment and reinvestment schemes in accordance with Government
regulations and Council rules.
- To ensure all records associated
with projects are maintained in accordance with Council and surveying
professional standards.
Essential Experience Required
- Significant experience in delivering fire safety construction work to
buildings including knowledge of the regulatory process for work to buildings
designated as ‘higher-risk buildings’ under the Building Safety Act 2022 is essential.
- Experience of project managing projects where a multi-disciplinary
consultant team has been engaged is essential.
Essential Qualification Required
- A qualification in Building, Housing or related subject, for example
HND/NVQ Level 4 or CIOB or similar professional body/institute qualification is
essential.
Additional information to note
- Working hours: 36 hours per week.
- The team operate on a flexible
working basis but must be available on the telephone Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00
and the candidate must also have contact with their line manager on a video
call at least once a day.
- Attendance on site and in the
office is required to meet the needs of the job, up to a maximum of five days
per week. This will include attending the office in Romford every Thursday.
