5 weeks contract with a Local Authority
Job Summary:
• We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Finance & Admin Officer to provide administrative support within a Welfare Rights Service supporting individuals affected by cancer.
• The successful candidate will join the Income Maximisation Unit and be responsible for handling a range of administrative tasks, including appointment coordination, case recording, and statistical data compilation.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
• Manage and coordinate customer appointments for Welfare Rights Officers.
• Accurately record the outcomes of welfare rights consultations and maintain case files.
• Compile and maintain statistical information and reports to support service monitoring and development.
• Administer and process incoming referrals and documentation.
• Provide general administrative support to the team as required.
• Maintain confidentiality and data accuracy at all times.
• Support the smooth running of the Macmillan-funded Income Maximisation Service.
Skills/Experience:
• Previous experience in an administrative, clerical, or support role within a public sector, welfare, or healthcare setting.
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
• Experience working with statistical information or performance data is desirable.
• A supportive and compassionate approach when dealing with vulnerable service users.
