3 months contract with a Local Authority
Job Summary:
• We are seeking three experienced Customer Service Officers to join a busy Housing Repairs team, handling damp, mould, and leak-related enquiries.
• This is a frontline role requiring strong communication and customer service skills, with responsibilities across incoming/outgoing calls, web chats, raising work orders, and general administration.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
• Respond to customer enquiries via telephone, email, and web chat in a professional and timely manner.
• Accurately raise work orders and prioritise repairs for issues related to damp, mould, and leaks.
• Follow up with customers to confirm job completion and service satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate records using internal systems while adhering to Data Protection requirements.
• Liaise with contractors, internal departments, and partner agencies to resolve issues efficiently.
• Encourage digital self-service by guiding customers to use online tools and forms.
• Undertake general administrative tasks and support ongoing service improvements.
• Adhere to shift patterns and health & safety policies as required.
Skills/Experience:
• Proven experience in a customer-facing role, preferably within housing or repairs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads to meet deadlines.
• Strong customer focus with an empathetic and problem-solving approach.
• Confident IT user with the ability to learn and work across multiple systems.
• Experience working in a call centre or high-volume contact environment.
• Knowledge of housing repairs or maintenance service processes.
Additional Information:
• The role is office-based in Peckham (SE15) 4 days per week, with 1 day working from home.
• Full-time temporary contract: 36 hours per week.
