6 months contract with a local authority

Job Purpose
  • To lead and deliver high-quality consultancy services for transformation and change initiatives across the CFLL Directorate, supporting Council’s strategic ambitions. The role provides specialist operational and technical expertise to evaluate services, develop innovative solutions, and drive continuous improvement in service quality and efficiency.

Key Duties/Accountabilities
  • Lead the design and delivery of transformation programmes and projects across CFLL.
  • Evaluate existing services and apply specialist knowledge to develop innovative, customer-focused solutions.
  • Deliver consultancy services including process reviews, workshop facilitation, business case development, and benefits realisation.
  • Develop and implement operational and strategic plans aligned with organisational goals.
  • Represent the service in internal and external initiatives, building strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to project teams and junior staff to build internal capability.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and best practices that support transformation and service improvement.
  • Monitor and report on project outcomes, ensuring alignment with budget and strategic objectives.
Essential Experience Required
  • Experience working in complex political environments and delivering measurable improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop staff.
Essential Qualification Required
  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification, with experience at management level in a specialist area.
Additional information to note
  • Satisfactory DBS clearance required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel across the county for stakeholder engagement.
