3 months contract with a Local Authority
Job Summary:
• A dedicated and experienced Supervised Contact Worker is required for a part-time position within a Children’s Contact Centre Service.
• This is a 3-month contract offering the opportunity to support safe and structured contact between children and their family members or significant others.
• The role involves working across multiple locations within a London borough, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children involved.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
• Supervise contact sessions between children and family members/friends in a safe and controlled environment – including contact centres, family centres, community venues, and occasionally in the family home.
• Observe and record accurate, objective, and factual notes of each contact session, identifying both strengths and any safeguarding concerns.
• Intervene appropriately where necessary to prevent harm or mitigate risks, always prioritising the child’s welfare.
• Liaise effectively with professionals and contribute to assessments through timely and detailed reports.
• Maintain professionalism and empathy while working with families from diverse backgrounds.
• Comply with safeguarding procedures and relevant legal and policy frameworks.
• Use Microsoft Office and internal databases to record and manage contact sessions and reports accurately.
Skills/Experience:
• Previous experience in supervised contact work, family support, or a child-centred role is essential.
• Strong understanding of child development and family dynamics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clear, factual, and evidence-based reports.
• Able to stay calm, impartial, and professional in emotionally sensitive situations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and comfortable using case management systems.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
Additional Information:
• Enhanced DBS clearance required.
• Ability to travel across multiple local venues as needed.
• Part-time, 21 hours per week.
• One post Wednesday to Friday and one post Sunday to Tuesday - no flexibility possible.
