3 months contract with a Local Authority
Job Summary:
• Council is looking to bring in a number of qualified Social Workers to cover mainly Child Protection cases.
• The team manager and principle social worker have both been in their roles for a number of years and offer a wide range of experience and skills, high levels of support, guidance and advice and the team comes with varying levels of experience both as qualified and unqualified.
• The team have a second PSW who case holds court cases but also provides additional support to the team and team manager.
• Training opportunities and monthly supervision will be provided to all agency staff.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
• We are looking for experienced social workers for both the Intake teams and Locality (long term teams) who can work with children whose names are placed on the Child Protection Register, families under Pre-Proceedings (PLO) and Court cases.

As a social worker you will make an impact on children’s lives, through your commitment and dedication you will help deliver high quality services and use a child-centred approach. Our social workers make a real difference to the families they work with and help their families who may have had a difficult start in life to achieve their best outcomes.
• As a social worker you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding children, building upon family relationships to support and empower children and their families to make important choices about the direction of their lives.
• Listening to families and children are at the heart of what we do. You would be working in partnership with families helping them to develop skills for their children to live in a happy and safe home environment.
Skills/Experience:
• Minimum 3 years post-qualifying experience in social work.
• Working with children on the Child Protection Register.
• Handling court cases and families under pre-proceedings.
• Ability to effectively communicate with children, families, and other professionals.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive and skilled team.
• Adaptable to flexible and hybrid working arrangements.
• Focus on delivering high-quality services centered around the well-being of children and families.
• Skills in supporting and empowering families to make important life choices.
• Willingness to engage in ongoing training and supervision.
Additional Information:
• Full time role - 37 Hr/week.
• Hybrid working arrangements.
• Driving license is required.
• Social Care Wales qualification.
