2-3 Months Contract with a Local Authority
Summary
- The successful candidate will play a vital role in reducing under-occupation of Council housing by supporting tenants who wish to move to smaller, more suitable homes. This role involves promoting awareness, providing support, and handling administrative duties, including assessing and processing applications for households downsizing to sheltered accommodation or Seaside and Country Homes. Additionally, the role requires preparing and processing documents for financial incentives and maintaining accurate records and case notes.
Responsibilities
- Promote and raise awareness of downsizing and right-sizing schemes among council tenants.
- Provide tailored advice and practical support to tenants considering moving to smaller or more appropriate housing.
- Assess and process applications for residents moving to sheltered accommodation or the Seaside and Country Homes scheme.
- Prepare, process, and track all documentation related to financial incentive schemes.
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate case notes and records in accordance with data protection requirements.
- Liaise with internal departments, housing providers, and external agencies to facilitate smooth relocation processes.
Essential Experience Required
- Proven experience in housing services, tenancy management, or a similar customer-facing housing role.
- Experience supporting tenants with housing moves or relocation schemes.
- Strong background in administrative processes, record keeping, and data management.
- Experience working with vulnerable tenants or older residents is desirable.
- Familiarity with housing legislation, social housing policies, and local authority procedures preferred.
Essential Qualifications Required
- Educated to A-level standard or equivalent experience in housing or public service.
- Relevant professional qualification in housing (e.g., CIH Level 3 or above) is desirable.
- Strong IT skills, including use of housing management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
