3 months contract with local authority

Main Tasks

• Lead on modeling key current & future income streams
  
• Interpret the impact on financial planning of financial / legislative / policy changes
  
• Provide accurate and timely forecasts of in-year external income
  
• Create briefing notes as required
  

• Lead on the production of the annual Fees & Charges report to successful presentation to Cabinet
  
• Lead on the production of the annual Taxbase report
  
• Play a key role in the production of officer, member, other briefings in relation to the 2024/25 Budget / MTFS
  
• Compile and produce accurate and clear data, analysis, interpretation to aid effective decision-making including production of tables, graphs, appendices for all financial planning reports
  
• Support &/lead on responses to key financial consultation exercises
  
• Respond to ad hoc queries
  

• Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of the 2024 RA return and any other statutory budget returns
  
• Effective liaison with and reporting of precepting and levying body payments
  
• Provision of accurate and accessible financial information to include in internal and external communication around future financial plans
  

• Day to day management of a graduate trainee
  

• Advanced excel skills
  
• Attention to detail
  
• Good knowledge of Local Government Funding
  
• Good written & verbal communication skills
  
• Experience of modeling / scenario planning (Desirable)
  
• Knowledge of SAP (Desirable)
