3 months contract with local authority

Join our team as a Visiting Officer and play a crucial role in providing a high-quality, professional service across the Assessment Hub. This position involves a variety of tasks including inspecting properties, conducting residency checks, and assisting vulnerable customers without support. As a Visiting Officer, you will need to produce detailed reports and follow standard procedures with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspecting empty or altered properties
Conducting residency checks and assessment visits
Assisting housebound or vulnerable customers without support
Collecting income-related data and other council reductions

Requirements

Experience in providing a visiting service
Adaptability and willingness to work across different hubs
Strong communication skills for explaining complex matters
Good IT and technical skills
Commitment to continuous professional development

Essential Knowledge:

Understanding of collection, income-related assessments, and benefit services
Knowledge of best practices in income collection and assessment within a local authority
Familiarity with welfare benefits and value for money principles

Additional Information:

Start date is flexible
Enhanced DBS without barring list required
Candidates must be car owners/drivers
