3-month contract position with a local authority

Summary

This is a 3-month contract position with a local authority aimed at developing, coordinating, and supporting practice learning arrangements for professional social work training. The role is crucial in promoting and facilitating the achievement of post-qualifying awards and Continuous Professional Education and Learning (CPEL). The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the quality of social work training and professional development within the organization.

Responsibilities

Support the Workforce Development and Training Manager in implementing the Social Care Workforce Development Plan for Adult and Children’s Services.
Coordinate practice teaching arrangements within the Social Care and Health Group.
Identify, train, and support practice teachers, providing guidance to students on placement.
Manage arrangements for employees seconded for professional social work training.
Collaborate with colleagues, independent and voluntary sectors, and Higher Education Providers to maintain a local Practice Learning Partnership.
Promote and facilitate post-qualifying awards and Continuous Professional Development activities.

Requirements

Substantial experience in a social care setting.
Experience in formal training of colleagues and/or other professionals.
Experience in supervising, supporting, or coaching staff, students, or volunteers.
Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
Evidence of post-qualification professional development.
Relevant Training and Development qualification.
Registration with the Care Council for Wales or equivalent.
Full valid driving license and use of a car.
DBS and HCPC Registration required.
