Contract With A Local Authority


Job Purpose:
  • As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with a range of needs, including physical, emotional, and social support. You will help clients lead fulfilling lives, promote independence, and ensure their safety and well-being—day or night, depending on your assigned shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide person-centred support to individuals in line with their care plans.

  • Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration.

  • Support clients to access community services, attend appointments, or participate in social and recreational activities.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including daily logs, incident reports, and care documentation.

  • Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment at all times.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and colleagues.

  • Respond calmly and professionally to emergencies or challenging behaviour.

  • Follow all policies, procedures, and safeguarding protocols.

  • Work collaboratively with team members and attend handovers between shifts.



Shifts:

This is a shift-based role which may include:

  • Morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight shifts

  • Weekends and public holidays

  • Rotating shift patterns


Requirements:

  • Experience in a support or care setting (formal or informal)

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overnight and weekend shifts

  • Empathetic, patient, and respectful approach

  • Good communication and teamwork skills
