Job description
Contract With A Local Authority
- As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with a range of needs, including physical, emotional, and social support. You will help clients lead fulfilling lives, promote independence, and ensure their safety and well-being—day or night, depending on your assigned shift.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide person-centred support to individuals in line with their care plans.
Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration.
Support clients to access community services, attend appointments, or participate in social and recreational activities.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including daily logs, incident reports, and care documentation.
Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment at all times.
Communicate effectively with clients, families, and colleagues.
Respond calmly and professionally to emergencies or challenging behaviour.
Follow all policies, procedures, and safeguarding protocols.
Work collaboratively with team members and attend handovers between shifts.
Shifts:
This is a shift-based role which may include:
Morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight shifts
Weekends and public holidays
Rotating shift patterns
Requirements:
Experience in a support or care setting (formal or informal)
Ability to work flexible hours, including overnight and weekend shifts
Empathetic, patient, and respectful approach
Good communication and teamwork skills
