Job Summary:
• We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Manager to lead and shape a high-performing finance function.
• This role is instrumental in developing and managing the organisation’s financial strategy, ensuring robust governance, compliance with legislative requirements, and the delivery of value-for-money services.
• You will play a key role in supporting strategic directors, business managers, and elected members through expert financial advice, high-quality reporting, and financial planning.
• This is an exciting opportunity to influence corporate financial policy and contribute to long-term organisational success.

Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
• Lead the delivery of effective and innovative financial services across departments, ensuring strategic alignment with corporate objectives and financial regulations.
• Develop and implement financial strategies and medium-term financial plans.
• Act as a senior advisor on all financial matters, including policy development, risk management, and statutory reporting.
• Oversee financial compliance and ensure the integrity of financial systems and statutory accounts.
• Manage relationships with internal and external partners, including service providers and auditors.
• Lead and develop a team of finance professionals, ensuring continuous improvement, accountability, and service excellence.
• Contribute to corporate projects and transformation programmes, bringing financial insight and strategic vision.
• Champion a strong performance management and anti-fraud culture throughout the organisation.

Skills/Experience:
• Proven experience in a senior financial management role within a complex organisation, ideally in the public sector.
• Strong knowledge of financial legislation, local government finance, and medium-term financial planning.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders, including elected members and executive leadership.
• Experience managing financial teams, budgets, and external service providers or contracts.
• Skilled in delivering high-quality financial analysis, performance reporting, and risk-based decision-making.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and persuasively.
• Proficient in the use of financial systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Additional Information:
• Holds a relevant financial qualification (e.g. CCAB, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent).
