Job description

 3 months contract with local authority

This role involves leading legal proceedings for Rugby Borough Council concerning tenancy enforcement within Housing Management, specifically focusing on Independent Living tenancies. The position requires providing supervision, guidance, and support to the Housing Management Team to sustain tenancies effectively. The role also involves conducting tenancy reviews, offering recommendations, and collaborating with various teams and agencies to deliver a comprehensive housing service aligned with the Council's objectives and priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the Council in legal proceedings related to housing management.
  • Conduct final reviews on tenancies at risk of eviction and recommend next steps.
  • Supervise Housing Officers (Independent Living) in delivering housing management services.
  • Provide advice and information to tenants and the public through various communication methods, emphasizing customer care.
  • Collaborate with housing teams and other Council officers to support housing services and resolve issues.
  • Work with internal and external organizations to sustain tenancies through a multi-agency approach.
  • Monitor and coordinate the use of noise recording equipment.
  • Support Housing Officers in processing housing management requests in line with legislation.
  • Investigate and act on breaches of tenancy conditions, including court actions.
  • Manage high-risk complaints of anti-social behavior and neighbor disputes, ensuring compliance with legislation.
  • Prepare evidence packages for legal actions in neighbor nuisance and anti-social behavior cases.
  • Promote tenant participation and equal opportunities within the service.
  • Develop and maintain community agreements with residents and agencies.
  • Organize case conferences with relevant agencies to achieve positive outcomes for tenants.
  • Ensure accurate recording of work on housing management systems and prepare reports for the Housing Services Team Leader.
  • Maintain monitoring records and prepare statistical reports for service improvement recommendations.
