3-month contract with a local authority

Job Purpose

To undertake work in public parks, schools, playing fields, landscaped areas, and similar open spaces. Provision of high-quality grounds maintenance service and the achievement of its objectives through the optimum application of the allocated resources.

Key Duties/Accountabilities

General maintenance of allocated areas e.g., grass cutting, hedge trimming, and maintenance of sports areas in accordance with approved specification.
Undertake basic setting out and marking of sports areas and upkeep of artificial/synthetic/natural pitches.
Cleaning e.g., public buildings such as changing rooms and toilets, parks, playgrounds, and open spaces.
Application of pesticides in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines and current legislation.
Work with minimal supervision and accept responsibility for the direction of the work of trainees and other employees assigned to them.

Essential Experience Required

Previous experience of Gardening/Grounds person duties
Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and Safe Working Practices
Familiarity with COSHH Regulations
Experience working with Hand Tools, Powered Vibrating Machinery, and Light Plant

Essential Qualification Required

Additional information to note

Working hours: 43 hours per week
Full, valid UK driving licence and sole use of a vehicle is essential
Candidate is required to be fit and able to carry out grounds maintenance duties

Requirements
