Job Summary:

• A seasonal opportunity is available for an experienced and motivated Gardener to join a grounds maintenance team responsible for various public and residential spaces.

• This temporary role focuses on delivering high standards of horticultural work, using a variety of manual and powered tools and equipment.

• The successful candidate will take pride in their work and contribute to the upkeep of key green spaces across the area.

Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):

• Carry out general gardening and grounds maintenance duties, including grass cutting, pruning, and hedge trimming.

• Operate pedestrian and ride-on mowing equipment safely and efficiently.

• Perform manual handling tasks such as lifting, bending, and stretching.

• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of work areas, ensuring all sites are left tidy.

• Assist in the upkeep of sheltered housing schemes, verges, and other community green spaces.

• Follow health and safety guidelines while using gardening tools and machinery.

• Work as part of a team to ensure seasonal targets are met.

• Liaise professionally with colleagues and members of the public where required.

Skills/Experience:

• Previous experience in grounds maintenance or horticulture.

• Ability to operate mowing machinery (pedestrian and ride-on).

• Strong understanding of safe manual handling techniques.

• Physically fit and comfortable with outdoor work in all weather conditions.

• Team player with a good eye for detail and high standards of cleanliness.

• Excellent time management and the ability to work independently.
