6-Month Contract with a Local Authority

Summary
  • This role is responsible for leading and managing a social work team to ensure that vulnerable children and their families receive responsive services that safeguard and promote their welfare. The position actively contributes to strategic developments for children and their families in Dudley and involves supervising social workers.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the delivery of services to children, young people, their families, and carers in accordance with legislation, guidance, and local policies.
  • Make complex decisions regarding social service provision for children and families within Dudley.
  • Manage work allocation, ensuring assessments, care plans, and reviews are implemented and statutory timescales are met.
  • Collaborate with partner agencies and the voluntary sector for multi-agency assessment, planning, intervention, and review.
  • Negotiate service provisions with voluntary and external agencies to support service delivery.
  • Contribute to the management of services as part of the Children’s Services Management Team.
  • Promote effective internal and external communication.
Essential Experience Required
  • Experience managing social care services for children and families.
  • Experience providing supervision and consultation.
  • Significant experience in delivering social care services for children and families.
  • Involvement in cultural and organizational change in complex organizations.
  • Experience in developing and monitoring services.
Essential Qualifications Required
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, on the SWE Register for qualified Social Workers.
  • Evidence of management/supervisory training or willingness to undertake such training.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
