Job purpose

We are seeking a Victim Services Coordinator to join our dynamic, well-resourced Youth Justice Service in Enfield. This is an exciting opportunity to support victims of youth crime using a trauma-informed, child-first approach, ensuring restorative opportunities are available to those affected.

Based in our state-of-the-art, co-located facility in Enfield Town, you’ll work alongside Children’s Services and Community Safety colleagues as part of a diverse, innovative workforce dedicated to improving outcomes for children and families.

If you are passionate about making a difference, value collaboration, and are committed to restorative and child-centred practice — we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support and information to victims of youth crime in accordance with the Victims’ Code of Practice (VCOP).

  • Develop and deliver victim-focused interventions for children and families across Enfield, using a trauma-informed, restorative approach.

  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including schools, community groups, Family Hubs, and the Youth Development Service.

  • Offer restorative opportunities (direct and indirect) that promote understanding, accountability, and positive outcomes for both victims and young people.

  • Maintain accurate records, ensure timely data collation, and contribute to updates on YJS victim trackers and performance systems.

  • Support the development of community-based interventions and projects that strengthen community safety and cohesion.

  • Work collaboratively within a multi-agency environment, contributing to assessments, planning, and reviews to ensure coordinated support.

  • Represent the Youth Justice Service at relevant meetings, forums, and partnership events.

  • Demonstrate professional curiosity and sensitivity when engaging with victims, ensuring all practice aligns with safeguarding principles and trauma-informed care.

  • Contribute to service development by sharing learning, identifying gaps, and supporting innovation in victim services delivery.

Requirements

  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

  • Evidence of continued professional and personal development relevant to the role.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.

  • Competent IT user, with experience in data recording and report writing.

  • Proven experience of working within the criminal justice system, victim support services, or youth justice settings.

  • Experience delivering individual and group interventions with victims and/or disaffected children and young people.

  • Demonstrated ability to engage, supervise, and motivate young people to achieve positive behavioural change.

  • Skilled in handling sensitive and traumatic cases, conducting interviews, and preparing professional reports.

  • Experience of multi-agency partnership working, demonstrating collaboration and shared accountability.

  • Proven track record of creating SMART, personalised intervention plans responsive to assessed needs.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing demands, and meet deadlines.

  • Enhanced DBS Certificate is required for this role
