Job description

Contract: 3 months contract with a local authority

Job Purpose

  • To provide tailored support to individuals with disabilities, complex barriers, or long-term unemployment, helping them move closer to or into sustainable employment. The successful applicant will provide support to clients, assess and review referrals to the service and advise on future employment and career options, liaise with employers and referring organisations, help with job searching and post-employment support. Facilitate and support customers both individually and in groups with their “Search for Work” and learning activities.

Key Duties/Accountabilities

  • Assess and review referrals to the Work and Health Programme.
  • Provide one-to-one and group-based support to clients in their search for work.
  • Identify individual needs and develop personalised action plans to support employment goals.
  • Offer careers advice and guidance, including CV writing, interview preparation, and job applications.
  • Liaise with employers to identify suitable job opportunities and promote inclusive recruitment practices.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients to monitor progress and provide post-employment support.
  • Work collaboratively with referring agencies, training providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and outcomes.
  • Promote the Enable service and contribute to continuous service improvement.

Essential Experience Required

  • Experience supporting individuals with disabilities, health conditions, or complex needs into employment.
  • Background in employability, careers advice, social care, or community support is desirable.
  • Experience working in a person-centred, outcomes-focused environment.

Essential Qualification Required

  • General education qualification in the related field is essential.

Additional Information

  • Working hours: 37 hours per week
  • The role requires an enhanced DBS.
  • The role requires a driving license.
